Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, has made history by winning the Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards.
The event was held on Monday, June 9, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, United States.
According to the full winners’ list released by organisers, the ‘Rush’ hitmaker beat top stars like Tyla (South Africa), Rema (Nigeria), Black Sherif (Ghana), and others to clinch the highly coveted global honour.
The 22-year-old Marvin Records artiste has now become the youngest Nigerian to win the BET Best International Act category, joining past winners like Burna Boy and Wizkid.
Her win came on a night dominated by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, who walked away with five awards, including Album of the Year and Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
