Independent hip-hop artist Kure Sadiq, known by his stage name Savage Qidas, is preparing to release a new extended play (EP) titled Praise the Lord on August 15, 2025.

The project, consisting of six tracks, is entirely self-produced, mixed, and mastered by the artist in his home studio.

Speaking ahead of the release, Qidas said the project represents both a creative milestone and a personal journey shaped by his experience in the Northern Nigerian music scene.

“Every track on Praise the Lord came from a place of intentionality. I wanted to make something that feels honest—something people can connect to,” he said.

The EP combines elements of contemporary hip-hop with bass-driven instrumentation, reflecting Qidas’ distinct approach to production. According to him, each song was crafted to offer a “soul-soothing” listening experience without sacrificing lyrical depth or sonic intensity.

Based in Northern Nigeria, Qidas has steadily built a following for his genre-blending sound and hands-on approach to music creation. He noted that working independently on every part of the project allowed him to maintain full creative control and remain true to his artistic vision.

“There’s a certain energy that comes from doing everything yourself,” Qidas said. “It’s not just about having the skills—it’s about shaping a sound that fully reflects who you are as an artist.”

Praise the Lord will be available on major streaming platforms from August 15. The release is expected to attract both fans of underground Nigerian hip-hop and listeners seeking new voices in independent African music.
