Ingredients

  • Ice
  • Frozen pineapple
  • Cream of coconut
  • Coconut milk
  • Light rum

Directions

  • Dice your pineapple into small chunks.
  • Blend the diced pineapple and ice together in a blender until you have a slushy consistency.
  • Pour in the coconut milk to give it a creamy texture.
  • Add in the cream of coconut.
  • Pour in the rum. For that classic Piña Colada kick, add light rum. You can skip this step if you prefer a non-alcoholic version.
  • Blend all the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Pour your Piña Colada into a chilled glass. Garnish with a slice of fresh pineapple on the rim of the glass. You can also add a maraschino cherry on top for a pop of colour and extra sweetness.
  • Serve cold.

Additional tips

  • Be sure not to mix up “cream of coconut” with “coconut cream”. Cream of coconut is coconut cream processed to form a syrup-like consistency, while coconut cream contains coconut meat with a small amount of water.
  • You can leave out the rum and have a virgin Piña Colada.
  • Feel free to experiment by adding a splash of lime juice for a tangy twist or a dash of vanilla extract for added depth of flavour.
