Health Benefits Of Going Organic

A healthy diet requires getting the most nutritional value out of every bite you take and you can do that by simply “going organic”. Organic food is food grown or processed without the use of synthetic fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, antibiotics etc.

Here are some ways you identify inorganic foods:

Un-rinsed vegetables are, first and foremost, grown with the use of toxic petrochemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, and just recently, antimicrobials fall under inorganic. Until the 50’s we were still eating organic foods. However, besides potentially providing more nutrition per bite, organic food also help you fight off disease including ensuring they don’t get into your body in the first place.

Here are some ways to go organic:

Be Strategic in Your Organic Purchase: Switching to organic is tough for many families who don’t want to pay higher prices or give up their favorite foods but by choosing organic versions of just a few foods that you eat often, you can increase the percentage of organic food in your diet without big changes to your shopping cart and spending.

Fish out Outlets to Buy Your Organics: If you are not sure of getting these outlets locally, try to shop from trusted conventional organic food growers who may not be in a rush to alter procedures due to societal agricultural demands.

Improvise Your Recipes: If an organic ingredient isn’t available or affordable you switch to an alternative food that works just as well, or even better than the original ingredient.

Avoid High Level Inorganic Foods: If going totally organic is too difficult or pricey, play it safe and eat the following conventional produce items to minimize your exposure. These are known to have the least amount of pesticide residue; onions, sweet corn, pineapple, avocado, cabbage, sweet peas, asparagus, mangoes, eggplant, kiwi , sweet potatoes, grapefruit, watermelon, mushrooms. etc

Invest in Organic Meat, Cheese & Milk: Instead of buying processed dairies or uncertified imported ones invest in the local ones, think of it as an investment to the body, after all, the price of organic foods seems to be minor compared to the price of life.

Wash Your Foods Thoroughly: Best is to stay away from inorganic foods as possible, ensure you wash all food items requiring washing thoroughly using salt.
