In an emotional video shared on her Instagram page on Tuesday, the actress looked pale and weak as she spoke about her deteriorating health and the betrayal she has faced from close friends and colleagues.

The once-vibrant movie star, who has been battling health challenges, expressed frustration over accusations that she has been faking her illness.

In the video, Halima said, “People are confused about what is happening. I’m not feeling fine up till now; I’m just good at being strong. I’m just pretending as if I’m okay. This is the real me because every day you see me post pictures with the TikTok filter, but this is how I look. How could somebody say I’m lying that I am sick?”

The actress, who has been off the Nollywood scene for years, revealed that she had to relocate to Lagos from her village due to medical reasons.

She noted that despite going for regular check-ups at a Turkish hospital, her health has yet to fully improve.

“I’m supposed to have an MRI, and I’m still waiting to go have it. I have so many things medically to do. My MRI, my BP is 157. What am I thinking? My own best friend said I am lying to the public, and we are not even living in the same place. You didn’t come to check on me even once.”

Halima, who has been absent from Nollywood for over six years, also expressed deep sorrow over her suspension from the industry.

She lamented the betrayal from those she once considered family in the movie industry.

She added, “You sacked me from Nollywood, but what’s all this betrayal about? It’s a mad person that lies that they are sick. They said I was never sick, that I was lying. I was in the village for more than one year. I moved here recently because of the hospital where I go for check-ups.”

Abubakar’s struggles began long before her public appeal for help.

In October 2024, she was suspended from Nollywood over alleged professional misconduct, a move that further distanced her from the industry that once celebrated her talent.

Since then, she has been battling health challenges, and in her latest video, she hinted at emotional distress, questioning why people have refused to believe she is truly ill.

Her plea has sparked reactions on social media, with fans expressing concern for her well-being while calling on the industry to support one of their own.
