2027: Odidiomo donates N5m to Felele Central Mosque, urges prayers for Nigeria

Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West House of Representatives member, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide

The Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide ‘Odidiomo‘, has donated N5 million to the Felele Central Mosque, Ibadan, for its upkeep and development.

Odidiomo made the donation shortly after observing the Friday Jumat prayer with Muslim faithful at the mosque, urging Nigerians to continue praying for peace, security and economic prosperity in the country.

The lawmaker, who is seeking to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, said his intervention was motivated by his belief in the role of religious and community institutions in promoting unity, moral values and peaceful coexistence.

Addressing the congregation, Odidiomo urged Muslims to intensify prayers for Oyo State and Nigeria, particularly in view of the security and economic challenges confronting the country.

He also called on political leaders to remain conscious of the responsibilities attached to public office, stressing that governance should be centred on the needs and welfare of the people.

According to him, the challenges confronting Nigeria require leaders who remain connected to their communities and respond to genuine needs rather than limiting their engagements to political activities.

Odidiomo described places of worship as more than centres for religious observance, saying they also provide platforms for transmitting values, strengthening social bonds and mobilising communities for peaceful coexistence.

He said the N5 million donation was intended to provide immediate assistance for the needs of the Felele Central Mosque, adding that he favoured practical interventions capable of producing tangible benefits for communities.

The lawmaker maintained that effective representation should extend beyond legislative and political engagements to meaningful participation in the social and developmental affairs of constituents.

He assured the congregation that he would continue to support initiatives that contribute to community development across Oyo South, regardless of political considerations.

Receiving the donation, the leadership of the Felele Central Mosque appreciated the lawmaker for identifying with the congregation and responding to the needs of the mosque.

The mosque leadership described the intervention as an indication of Odidiomo’s continued engagement with communities and commitment to supporting religious and social institutions.
