3000 enjoy free medicare in Imo
About 3000 persons have benefitted from the ongoing free medical outreach by the House of Representatives member for Ideato North/South constituency in Imo State, Austin Chukwukere.
The five-day health programme, in partnership with National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), according to the organiser, was aimed at addressing people’s health challenges.
Speaking after the flag off, yesterday, Chukwukere advocated continuous efforts to enhance the country’s health system, especially at the rural areas.
He said until government and other concerned individuals give adequate attention to people’s health, the country’s growth and development drive would continue to suffer setbacks.
One of the facilitators, Dr. Ajis Eleazer of Vision Saver Eye Care Limited, Abuja and the NPHCDA Imo State Coordinator, Stella Okoro, applauded the gesture, urging others to emulate the lawmaker.
A beneficiary, Tony Anueyiagu, with sight challenge for the past eight years, was full of joy with the opportunity to regain clear sight after being offered treatment and medication.
