Abductors of former chairman of Aliero Local Council in Kebbi State, Alhaji Abubakar Sale and his wife have demanded N100 million ransom from the family.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, yesterday, in Aliero town, where the incident happened, the former deputy speaker, who is also a brother to the victim, Buhari Aliero, said the kidnapper visited the house at about 11:40p.m., after he returned home at about 11:20p.m.

He said that the kidnappers were in contact with their younger brother, Abdullahi Issa, where they demanded the initial N100m ransom, but later reduced it to N25 million

The former deputy speaker who described the act as an unfortunate said no one is free as the kidnappers forced the gate-man to open the gate or they will kill him.

He said: “The incident happened, yesterday (Wednesday) September 7 in the night, while the family called me at about 12:00p.m., that some people took their father and mother away, while threatening to kill them if they talked.

“We have alerted the security agency concerned. We hope they will fish out the perpetrators and prosecute them.”

Also, the victim’s younger brother, Abdullahi Issa said the kidnappers called his telephone line and he spoke with his brother and he asked them to find solution for his release.

“They didn’t talk to me, they only gave the phone to my brother, they have called me twice, “ he said.
Narrating the incident, the gate-man, Usman Saidu Gado, said the kidnappers, who were four in number were all Fulanis.

He said the kidnappers, who did not cover their faces, have Fulani marks and were also speaking Fulfulde.

At press time, the state’s police spokesperson was yet to respond to enquiries sent to his mobile phone.
