Leke Abejide, representing Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, has picked the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket unopposed for the 2023 general election.
He became the first Rep in Yagba’s history to be returned by his political party unchallenged.
At the crowded Isanlu Town Hall, where 170 delegates of the ADC gathered to elect the party’s Reps flagbearer, the Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise won a landslide, bagging all 168 valid delegates’ votes out of 170.
The Returning Officer (RO), Dr. Peter Ede from the ADC national secretariat, Abuja, who announced the results, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and historic.
