***Says, Nigerians expect solutions to inflation, unemployment, rising living costs

***Demands full implementation of Disability Act

The National Leader of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Chike Okogwu, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to place governance above politics by confronting the economic hardship and security challenges confronting Nigerians.

Responding to the President’s recent remarks on political competition, Okogwu said Nigerians were looking to the government for decisive action on issues affecting their daily lives rather than political exchanges.

He identified soaring inflation, widespread unemployment, worsening insecurity and the rising cost of living as urgent national concerns requiring immediate attention, warning that millions of citizens continue to struggle under severe economic pressure.

Okogwu also raised concerns over the continued marginalisation of Persons with Disabilities, saying many still face barriers to accessing quality healthcare, education, transportation, employment and other essential public services.

He called on the Federal Government and state governments to move beyond promises by fully implementing the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, insisting that inclusive policies must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of people living with disabilities.

The ADC chieftain reaffirmed his party’s commitment to building a society where Persons with Disabilities enjoy equal rights and opportunities through accessible infrastructure, inclusive education, quality healthcare, economic empowerment and greater representation in governance.

According to him, the true legacy of any administration will not be measured by political victories but by its ability to ease the suffering of citizens, strengthen democratic institutions and unite the country.

“Nigerians expect leadership that delivers solutions. This is the time to address hunger, unemployment, insecurity and the challenges confronting vulnerable groups, especially Persons with Disabilities,” he said.
