Afe Babalola tasks FG on speedy completion of Ekiti highway

The Founder and Chancellor of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola

Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Aare Afe Babalola, has reiterated his appeal for the Federal Government to expedite action on the construction of Ado-Ijan road, saying: “We are suffering, we are losing on the road.”

Recall that the Ado-Ijan highway is a critical access route linking Ado-Ekiti to neighbouring states, and accommodating heavy vehicular traffic from major institutions, including ABUAD, the Federal Polytechnic, and the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.

Babalola spoke yesterday at the 2026 edition of the Annual Aare Afe Babalola Distinguished Personality Lecture Series organised by the Department of Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies of ABUAD, which took place on the university campus.

The legal icon urged Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, to consider coming to ABUAD to teach after completing his second term.

The founder expressed delight at the way Oyebanji, who was the Guest Lecturer, delivered his lecture.
