Akpabio, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said it was incumbent for the electorate to vote for APC in order to attract virile economic development and infrastructural projects from the Federal Government to the state.
He stated: “For the good people of Osun State if you are on a bush path and you’re escorted by a lion you cannot be afraid of goat. The President has put in place a lot of security to vote peacefully on Saturday.
While assuring that nobody would be intimidated or harassed, he added: “This a pointer to the fact that Mr President believes truly in democracy and democratic governance. He has spent two third of his life fighting for democracy. He would not allow any group of people to molest democracy.
Apkabio, who called on the people to file out and vote for the candidates of their choice, added that “my advice is that choose wisely, there is need to link Osun State to the centre. There’s need to link Osun to what is happening in Nigeria.
“Over 30 governors are already in the APC. We are waiting for Osun State. Don’t feel intimidated social media are not same thing as polling units. Even if you are molested you should restrain yourself.
“APC is dominant with people like Bisi Akande, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, Senator Iyiola Omisore and former governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
In his remark, the national chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who handed over the party’s flag and broom to Oyebamiji, urged the people to vote for APC on Saturday.
Oyebamiji, who spoke in Yoruba, assured that his administration when elected would cater for the overall interest of the people, stressing that “the government that is respectful will take care of you when elected on the 15th of August.
“Governance is not about dancing. No more dancing in Osun. It’s time for work. It is a serious business and this is not a theatre and we are going to touch your lives. I have a pact and a mandate with you and that mandate is to touch the lives of the people.
Omisore and Chief Bisi Akande, also appealed to the residents to ensure victory for the APC on Saturday.
