The Concerned National APC Stakeholders Forum has launched a fresh grassroots mobilisation drive for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 presidential election, with its coordinators charged to deliver polling units and wards for the ruling party.

The group unveiled the strategy on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of State Coordinators and Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Canvassers, declaring that its campaign for 2027 victory would be built from the polling-unit level upward.

The forum’s Convener and National Coordinator, Dr. Dominic Alancha, said the initiative was designed to move political mobilisation beyond Abuja, state capitals and political rallies to the communities where Nigerians live and vote.

He said the group’s operational philosophy was captured in the slogan, “Deliver Your Unit, Deliver Your Ward,” stressing that the strength of any political organisation should ultimately be measured by its ability to mobilise genuine voters at the polling-unit level.

“Elections are won at the grassroots,” Alancha said, urging the newly inaugurated coordinators to establish effective structures across states, local government areas, wards and polling units.

He charged them to know their communities, identify the concerns of residents, recruit credible canvassers, communicate the administration’s policies and maintain regular contact with voters.

According to him, if the APC delivers its polling units, it will deliver the wards; if it delivers the wards, it will secure local governments and states, ultimately strengthening its chances of victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Alancha said the canvassers must engage Nigerians respectfully and honestly, insisting that the campaign should be based on persuasion, ideas and performance rather than intimidation or abuse.

He urged them to listen to voters who were angry, strengthen the hope of those who were optimistic about the country and explain government policies to citizens who did not understand them.

He also warned the coordinators against spreading unverified information or insulting political opponents, urging them instead to build bridges and demonstrate that political mobilisation could be conducted with dignity and responsibility.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority, Dr. Amos Gizo Yadukso, said the success of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign would depend on whether support groups could establish genuine structures at the unit level.

Yadukso, a Christian from Plateau State and a long-standing supporter of President Tinubu, said support groups should not be merely Abuja-based, state-capital-based, local-government-based or ward-based.

He argued that a genuine grassroots structure must ultimately reach the polling unit because that was where the real voter was located.

“Support group should be unit base. And when you talk about grassroots, if you truly mean what you say about grassroots, it now means you are touching on the real voter,” he said.

Yadukso recalled that more than 10,000 political support groups were active during efforts to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 election, but warned against inflated claims of membership that could not be verified.

He challenged groups seeking recognition to provide the names and telephone numbers of genuine unit-level coordinators, saying the organisation would use its situation rooms to verify the structures presented.

“If we truly, truly believe in what we are doing, and we truly want to return President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima to the Villa, let each state bring us real coordinators of their units,” he said.

Yadukso said the forum would give the grassroots movement its full support if its members demonstrated commitment to reaching voters and building credible structures.

“We are not here just to make speeches and clap. We are here to see if truly we are ready to return our president to the Villa,” he said, expressing confidence that Tinubu would secure an “overwhelming” victory in 2027.

The Plateau politician also highlighted what he described as some of the administration’s achievements, particularly in education and infrastructure.

He cited the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFund), saying the scheme had helped students access funding for their education and eased financial pressures on families whose children were studying in Nigerian universities.

He also praised the infrastructure drive of the Tinubu administration, arguing that state governors had benefited from improved opportunities to execute development projects.

Yadukso further appealed to northern Christians not to allow concerns over the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket to weaken their support for Tinubu.

He said the administration’s appointments and distribution of political responsibilities showed that Tinubu regarded religion as a personal matter rather than a basis for excluding Nigerians from government.

The former Plateau State chairman of the Action Congress said northern Christians should assess the administration by its actions and record rather than statements from its opponents.

He maintained that the priority of the newly inaugurated canvassers should remain the grassroots, urging them to convert political structures into measurable support at polling units.

In his welcome address, Alancha similarly appealed to APC members and supporters to place the collective interest of the party and Nigeria above personal differences.

He said the APC was a family of diverse interests and backgrounds, adding that disagreements were inevitable in a democratic organisation but should not be allowed to undermine the party’s common purpose.

He urged the coordinators to regard their appointments as a call to service rather than a badge of personal status, charging them to be accessible, accountable, disciplined and strategic.

The inauguration was attended by APC leaders, stakeholders and members of the Tinubu/Shettima grassroots campaign structure.

The APC Deputy National Chairman, North, Dr. Bukar Ali Dalori, was represented at the event by a party representative, while Senator George Akume was also represented by Comrade Abba Yaro.

With the 2027 election approaching, the forum said it was determined to build its campaign from the polling unit upwards, insisting that political victory would not be secured by speeches and rallies alone.

For the group, the formula is straightforward: deliver the unit, deliver the ward, deliver the local government, deliver the state—and ultimately deliver a landslide victory for Tinubu and Shettima in 2027.
