APC group worry as Shettima’s men join opposition
North East All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders Forum has expressed concern over the defection of supporters of the party’s vice presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition parties.
Led by Shaibu Baffa Tilde, the group, in a statement, claimed that Shettima was not doing enough to curtail the ugly trend, which could affect the fortunes of the party in the North East geopolitical zone.
The group claimed that the party recently lost the Zonal Treasurer from Borno, Yusuf Banki, alongside 5,000 youths to the PDP; Zonal Organising Secretary, Murtala Gamji of Taraba, with over 200 youths to the New Nigeria Peoples party (NNPP); and Zonal Women Leader, Amina Manga of Bauchi, led one million women to PDP.
