Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates from Awgu Council of Enugu State have assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of their loyalty, solidarity and support ahead of the forthcoming party primary in the state.

The delegates, who visited Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, yesterday, told the governor that they had resolved to stand behind him and his choices in the party primary.

They added that they would also stand behind whoever the governor would ask them to support during the primary elections.

Speaking, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of Awgu Council, Pedro Nwankwo said: “We have come to let you know that wherever you ask us to stand is where we will stand. We are behind you.

“We are also solidly behind whoever you shall ask us to support or vote for during the primary elections. All we are waiting for is for you to speak and once you do so, we will act.”

Chairman of PDP in Awgu Council, Oke Udeh said: “We are here to inform you and assure you that we are behind you.”

We will always stand by you and we have no reason whatsoever not to know that you are the governor of Enugu State.

Chief of Whip of Enugu State House of Assembly and representative of Agwu North Constituency, Mrs. Jane Eneh; representative of Awgu South Constituency, Johnson Chukwuobasi; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ugonna Ibe; his Science and Technology counterpart, Obi Kama and Financial Secretary of PDP in the state, Alphonsus Orji, spoke during the visit.

Others are Deputy Chairman of PDP in Awgu Council, Emmanuel C. Nebo and Nelson Uduji, all of who restated their commitment and support for Ugwuanyi, reassuring the governor that the delegates, stakeholders and the people of Awgu Council were behind him and his decisions in respect of the 2023 general elections.
