Bagudu urges KEDCO to address Kebbi blackout
Governor Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State has appealed to the authorities of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to address the issue of frequent power outage in the state.
The governor told newsmen in Government House, Birnin-Kebbi, that his government was not happy with frequent power outage in the state, especially in the state capital. He stated that his government’s intervention in regular supply of electricity by providing needed facilities for the company was to help residents of the state, especially artisans and craftsmen, in their businesses.
Bagudu, who acknowledged the challenges facing KEDCO in recovering debts from consumers, also charged the company to device means that would allow the consumer pay for what they consumed.
On behalf of the company, he called on the media to join the electricity company to educate the populace on the need to pay their bills regularly.“I called this media conference to urge you, gentlemen of press, to help KEDCO and the state government sensitise our people to be alive to their responsibilities of paying their bills and in turn get improved services,” he said.
