…..Rally 10,000 women in Lagos for action on wealth creation
Founder of a Pan-African women-focused wealth platform, FinTribe, Jennifer Awirigwe has emphasised that financial education is important, but knowledge must eventually become action.
She made this emphasis ahead of the fourth edition of FinTribe annual Finance Fair in Lagos with the theme “I Can.”
Awirigwe, popularly known as Financial Jennifer, said the “I CAN” theme was designed to encourage women to translate financial knowledge into concrete steps towards achieving financial independence.
“We want women to leave Finance Fair knowing that they can save, invest, grow their income, build businesses and take ownership of their financial future,” she said.
The fourth edition of FinTribe, lead sponsor, Sycamore is to convene over 10,000 women on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to FinTribe, the 2026 edition will focus on helping women move beyond financial awareness to practical action in saving, investing, income growth, entrepreneurship and long-term wealth creation.
The Lagos event will also be extended to women outside the state through viewing centres in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom and Enugu.
Among those expected at the event are Funke Akindele, Omoni Oboli, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as BamBam; Sola Adesakin, Olufemi Shobanjo, Lynda Aguocha and Dr. Seyi Abiodun, popularly known as Seyi De Assistant, alongside other professionals and industry leaders.
Beyond the stage conversations, participants will have opportunities to engage directly with banks, investment companies, fintechs and other participating organisations.
The fair will also feature networking opportunities, brand activations and avenues for women to explore financial products and services relevant to their needs.
FinTribe said the Finance Fair’s empowerment component has also grown over previous editions, with women receiving millions of naira in business grants, international trips, plots of land, cash prizes, smartphones and other forms of support.
The organisation said its community has grown to more than 20,000 women across over 40 countries, with members collectively saving and investing millions of dollars through its financial education, community and accountability programmes.
Previous editions of the Finance Fair have featured business leaders, financial experts and public figures, including Dr. Ajoritsedere Awosika, Shaffy Bello, Ruth Kadiri, Nkiru Olumide-Ojo, Olufemi Shobanjo, TriciaBiz, Alex Unusual, Beauty Tukura and Dr. Ayodeji Ebo, among others.
