Boko Haram deadlier than IPOB, MASSOB, says Orji Kalu
A Former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has said there was no basis to compare the activities of Boko Haram insurgents with those of Biafran agitators in MASSOB and IPOB, just as he warned that Nigeria could not afford to engage in a second civil war.
According to him, Boko Haram is by far deadlier than the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as “none of these agitators for Biafra carry arms; they are not violent”
Kalu stated this at the Minna residence of former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, as part of condolence visit to the family of the late Alhaji Abdulkhadir Kure, an erstwhile governor of Niger State.
“Those agitating for Biafra do not constitute threat to the unity of Nigeria,” he stressed, warning that no country survives two civil wars.He went on: “MASSOB are not carrying arms. The Boko Haram sect members are more dangerous. We will continue to warn you people to live in peace. Like what is going on now in Southern Kaduna is not right. People should stop killing their fellow Nigerians.
“Politicians should manage rumours very well and stop dishing out rumours in social media to impress anybody. We are Nigerians and we will continue to be Nigerians and Nigeria is our home. We have no other country to go.”He reflected on the life and times of Kure, whom he described as a brother and friend.
“What I will miss specifically is the fight against third term. Myself, Engineer Kure and Bola Tinubu we went through so much with the SSS then, we changed venue severally, we went to Sheraton hotel, it was sealed, the second venue was seals on the order of a DIG, they even even attempted to seal the Niger governors lodge in Abuja until we went to Abia government house in Abuja where we met while they were planning their own.
“There are a lot of things that have not been said about third term. Kure was our great partner in killing the third term agenda. People have continued to deny that nothing like third term, that was a naked fallacy. There was a third term agenda, there were people who wanted third term and Kure was our great partner in that fight.
“Without that fight there would have been no president Jonathan or president Buhari. I paid dearly for it. I love everything that I had in fighting for the survival of democracy. While most of my colleagues had nothing to lose, the then power that be had nothing to hold them unto, but held me because I had a visible business they can hold on to and they destroyed it”, Kali asserted.

Well, third term or no third term, the blueprint of revenge was set in motion, which has culminated in the dis-arrayed house of the PDP.
Islamic militant group are working on the principle jihadi, which the koranic injunction mandates and allow the use of arm and warfare to actualize. The issue is not on the credibility and correct interpretation of the time and Koran but on the what jihad entails. The solution is not only in military confrontation but also in spiritual re-education of possible farming and harvesting regions which are fertile for converts. As for IPOB, MASSOB, Ojukwu Vanguard or brigade etc, it is a container investment.
We will review and take appropriate action.
