Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday said that President Muhammadu Buhari would be coming back to Nigeria on Sunday and he is expected to fully resume work the following day.

Osinbajo stated this during an interview with State House correspondents shortly before the commencement of the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, which he chaired.

Osinbajo, who however, confirmed that he spoke with the President on phone on Wednesday evening, and that he was doing fine, said the decision to extend the President’s stay in the United Kingdom (UK) may have been as a result of his staying on for the weekend.

The Vice President said: “The President will be back on Sunday. I spoke with him yesterday (Wednesday) evening and I think it is just the best that he takes the weekend off. He will certainly be back on Sunday.

“He will be back on Sunday. There is no point rushing back on Friday or something like that. He will just take the weekend off and be back on Sunday.”
