Buhari renominates another candidate as NPRA chief executive
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Senate to replace Sarki Auwalu as Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NPRA) Board.
The request, which was contained in a letter dated September 28, 2021, was read by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, at plenary yesterday in Abuja.
In a previous correspondence, dated September 16, 2021, the President had implored the upper legislative chamber to confirm Auwalu along with three other board members.
In the fresh communication, Buhari is seeking to replace Auwalu with Farouk A. Ahmed.
He explained that the move was consistent with Section 34(3) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.
