Church retools police to mitigate #EndSARS havoc
Dominion Sanctuary Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ogba, Lagos, has donated operational tools to the Pen-Cinema Divisional Police Headquarters, Agege, to cushion the effects of the October 2020 nationwide #EndSARS protests.
Speaking at the presentation of the items in Lagos, the Minister-in-charge of RCCG’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Prof. Gbenga Ogunmoyela, said the donation was an initiative of the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
He said the operational tools would enable the police discharge their duties effectively in the face of rising insecurity in Lagos and the entire country.
Ogunmoyela, who represented the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 19 Headquarters, Pastor Brown Oyitso, noted that the body, which conforms to Pastor Adeboye’s ideals, is premised on lifting humanity through principles situated on peaceful and liveable society.
Performing the commissioning, a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) and a senior pastor in the Church, Leye Oyebade, solicited assistance for the divisional headquarters in every aspect to enable the operatives discharge their duties effectively.
He charged the officers to ensure godliness in all their activities.
In her vote of thanks, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anuoluwapo Aladeyelun, commended the ministry for identifying with a notable project geared at making the society safer and better.
The Head of Department of CSR, Mrs. Yomi Adeleye, said: “We will ensure that God is honoured in our service to the Nigeria Police Force, mankind and humanity.”
