Cleric enjoins Nigerians to embrace righteousness
Nigerians have been urged to embrace righteousness for the country to move forward.
General Overseer, God’s Mercy Revival Ministries, Dr. James Akanbi, stated this at the on-going ministers’ conference organised by International Church Growth Ministry with the theme: “Flourishing Minister, Flourishing Ministry” at Foursquare International Convention Camp, Orisunbare, Idimu, Lagos. He said countries thrive according to the injunction of the Word of God that says “righteousness exalts the nation, but sin is the reproach of the people.”
He said: “As long as people at the top are responsive to God’s instruction and uphold integrity, the nation would flourish.
“The citizenry seeing that those at the top would not tolerate any ungodly manifestation, would definitely emulate the demonstrated excellent life-style of the leaders which would disseminate to every nook and cranny of the nation and the nation which would invariably reap the fruit of righteousness.”
Akanbi suggested that a strong economic team should be set up to look into the current position of Nigeria in the comity of nations, with a view to fine-tuning some blue-prints that would take it out of the woods.
“There is no doubt the nation is in a big problem, but as the saying goes that tough times never last, tough people do, we can get out of the problem if we can be faithful enough to realise our errors and follow the approach as enumerated above,” he added.
