Bishop of the Diocese of Ife, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Olubunmi Akinlade, has urged the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resolve their issues and end the strike without further delay, not only for the future of the children, but also for the sake of the country.

Akinlade made the call yesterday, at the Bishop’s Court, Ile-Ife, Osun State, during a press briefing on this year’s second session of the 11th Synod of the Diocese of Ife with the theme: “The Grace of Giving”, which is scheduled for April 30 and May 1, 2022 at The Cathedral, Church of St. Philip, Aiyetoro, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Akinlade advised ASUU to adopt dialogue for the sake of the students that are being compelled to spend extra years above their co-students in private institutions.

He also urged the Federal Government to cut wastages and excesses, especially those of political appointees and dialogue with the union.
