Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong, has called on politicians to desist from actions capable of triggering violence and war, even as he seeks support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the state, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.

His plea for votes for Eno, according to him, stems from his conviction that the candidate is the best among others in the state.

Ememobong, who spoke on Tuesday in Uyo, during the birthday celebration of employees in his Ministry, urged the people to pray to God to avert violence and war in the land due to political gimmicks but to enthrone by voting for Eno.

He expressed hope that God would intervene in the political situation in the country and the economic hardship being experienced by the people.

Ememobong, who was accompanied to the event by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Youth Matters, Aniefiok Iwa Udofia, stated that the youth movement across the country in the just-concluded presidential election is a clear demonstration of the need for change in leadership style and priorities in governance in Nigeria and expressed the hope that the incoming administration will be so guided.
