Court orders arrest of Customs ex-CG Dikko over N1b fraud charges
A bench warrant has been issued by Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court, Abuja on former Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Inde Dikko, in respect of the N1.1 billion fraud charges preferred against him, Garba Makarfi and Umar Husseini, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
They were alleged to have defrauded the Managing Director of Cambial Limited, Mr. Yemi Obadeyi, of the sum.
order for his appearance at the next adjourned date was sequel to an application brought by the prosecution counsel, E. A. Shogunle, when another scheduled arraignment could not hold due to the absence of the accused.
While subpoenaing him on the next sitting date of March 16, the judge wondered why the defense lawyer, Solomon Akuma (SAN), could not provide his client yesterday after promising to do at the last adjourned sitting.
