Customs’ PTML’s mid-year revenue hits N75.7b
Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has remitted N75.7 billion to the Federation Account between January and June 2019.
The mid-year collections, according to Customs Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mohammed Yakubu, recorded a 30.7 per cent increase when compared with last year’s N57.9 billion.
Yakubu attributed the increase to higher volume of trade and policy of the Area Controller, Florence Dixon, to prevent revenue losses, as well as the command’s increased diligence.
The command collected N9.9 billion in January 2018 and N14.8 billion in January 2019.
In April, May and June 2019, it made N13.2 billion, N12.3 billion and N13.3 billion respectively.
