Dangote, Ovia, Ezeh, others for IoD fellowship

The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc., Jim Ovia; Chairman, John Holt, Christopher Ezeh are among 41 eminent professionals and business leaders to be conferred with the fellowship of the Institute of Directors Nigeria tomorrow by 5:30 p.m. at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to the Director General/CEO of the institute, Dele Alimi, the award is for members with a minimum of 10-year directorship experience in reputable organisations and have distinguished themselves over the years.

He said the Acting Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), Chidi Izuwah, is gracing the event as guest speaker, and will deliver address on Infrastructure Development as a Means to National Growth.

The highlight will be the conferment of Distinguished Fellow Award on two past presidents of the institute, Chief Eniola Fadayomi and Samuel Yemi Akeju as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele and Chairman, Thorbourn Investment Limited, Justin Emmanuel.

Among those to be upgraded as fellows are MD/CEO, Heritage Bank, are Ifie Sekibo; Chairman, Mobil Oil Nigeria, Oyetunji Oyebanji; Registrar General, Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Bello Mahmud and MD/CEO, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim.

The list also includes MD/CEO, Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc., Dr. Olusegun Omosehin and Director, First Bank Nigeria, Ambrose Feese, among others.

Alimi noted that the event was to sensitise the public on the significant contributions of business leaders, public office holders and corporate entities to the society and economic prosperity.
