Dariye, Kwapnoe offered senatorial tickets
Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Joshua Dariye, and former member of his cabinet, Alexander Kwapnoe, have been offered senatorial tickets by the Labour Party (LP) in the state.
They will contest the senatorial seats of Plateau Central and Plateau South respectively.
Dariye, who was granted a state pardon about two months ago, breathed the air of freedom three days ago.
With this development, Dariye, who represented Plateau Central at the upper chamber of the National Assembly under the same LP between 2011 and 2015 before defecting to APC, will contend with Diket Plang of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Golkuna Gotom of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Plang emerged the winner of the APC primary election supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Jos.
However, Kwapnoe will slug it out with Governor Simon Lalong of APC and Gen. Napoleon Bali (rtd) of PDP in Plateau South.
Dariye, immediately after he was released three days ago, in Abuja, said politics has become part of his life; hence he cannot abandon politics.
Many interest groups and individuals were worried that Dariye is granted a presidential pardon, but for almost two months was still in detention.
Lalong was full of commendation and appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for the pardon granted Dariye and former Governor Jolly Nyame of Taraba State.
