The company, which was established in the 70s to produce high quality, but affordable products, described the clinic as a turn-key and ultra-modern medical facility designed and implemented by Sparklight Hospital and facilitated by Daily Need Group.
According to the Chief Medical Director, Sparklight Hospital, Lagos, Dr. Ahmed Omilana, an in-company clinic is an ideal for a company like DNG with a huge staff strength, saying it would afford the company the opportunity of arresting any emergency within the company before referring to Sparklight Hospital if the need be.
Dr. Omilana, who noted that the Hospital has been handling the medical concerns of the DNG’s staffers and conducting its pre-recruitment screening, said the idea of having a well-equipped clinic to be manned by trained medics, was deserving and the best decision any staff-friendly company would take in the best interest of its staff.
He noted that the clinic was approved and certified by the government, saying, “What they have done is the best to have an in-house clinic to manage any emergency in the company.
We give them basic treatment whenever any of the staff members is indisposed.”
The Chairman, DNG, Otumba (Dr.) Matthew Jolayemi, said, “Formerly, we used this clinic space as changing room then. When we moved, I asked myself what we were going to do with it. It was amazing; the day I was brought here, I was surprised. I thank God that this happened today and I pray that God will give them (Medics and staff) the wisdom to carry on their jobs.
“Anything you have without health is nothing. This clinic is important to me. Now, we have a clinic approved for the factory and nobody would wonder why we are having this. I thank God for the opportunity of having good staff working for the DNG.
“We thank God that they are good. I appreciate all of you and I thank Sparklight Hospital. Any problem that we can’t handle here will not come our way.”
Speaking further, the Managing Director of the company, Oluwatosin Jolayemi said the project was a dream come true.
“We planned it and it came true. We need it for the benefit and welfare of the staff. On the first instance, the staff would be treated in the clinic before they could get further treatment if the need be in a case of ill health. We need to give the staff the basic needs and thank the management for this.”
However, the company’s Spokesperson and Director, Special Duties, Oluwaseun Jolayemi, thanked the management and staff of both DNG and Sparklight Hospital for the successful project, saying it was a memorable project to have such a clinic in the company.
