United Arab Emirate UAE has opened its borders to international visitors with new travel guidelines and COVID-19 safety measures for travellers.

The border was declared opened today July 7, 2020 alongside new travel guidelines to provide easy and clear steps for tourists traveling to Dubai in order to enjoy Dubai’s leading attractions, facilities and amenities in a safe and protected environment.

CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), Issam Kazim in a statement said, Dubai has employed the highest international health and safety standards to ensure the well being of residents and visitors.

He said “While travelers are gearing up to take the long-awaited trip to the city with the border opening, it is also important for travelers to be well aware of vital information regarding safety of health especially in this era of COVID-19, availability of tourist attractions in the city and travel guidelines to follow.

“The International travelers planning their trip to Dubai will be guided by new travel protocols that states that ahead of landing in Dubai, visitors must take a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test four days (96 hours) prior to their date of travel. However if this has not been done, a PCR test will be carried out upon arrival at Dubai airports.”

He further said in addition to the PCR test, tourists are encouraged to check Nigeria’s travel advisory for guidance on outbound trips. And to ensure optimum safety, a complete health declaration form will be required as well as travel insurance covering COVID-19.

Kazim however noted that with the announcement of the city’s re-opening last week, Dubai reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and well being of all, while implementing new, transparent and easy to follow travel guidelines. “As we look forward to welcoming tourists to Dubai this July, the new travel guidelines reinforce our commitment to not only provide visitors a well-rounded destination experience but also ensure their health and safety and that of all communities within the city.

“We appreciate the trust that millions from around the globe have placed in us by including Dubai in their must-visit destination list each year. We want to assure our guests of Dubai’s operational readiness to ensure their well being, when it is deemed safe for them to visit. The city is ready to welcome visitors and has regained its vibrant energy following the reopening of attractions, facilities and amenities including public and hotel beaches, shopping malls, restaurants, swimming pools, water parks and golf courses, as well as the resumption of popular activities like water sports and camping.”
