Ebonyi sets up committee on climate change
Ebonyi State government has inaugurated desk officers across the 13 councils of the state to assist in the mitigation of climate change.
Inaugurating the officers in Abakaliki yesterday, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dave Umahi on Climate Change, Dr. Obianuju Aloh, said the officers would serve as a bridge between the state and councils, to ensure that the environment was safeguarded.
According to her, the dry season has stepped in, hence the need to take adequate measures to ensure that all the negative things associated with it do not occur.
Urging the desk officers to hit the ground running, she advised residents to avoid bush burning and keep their environment clean to prevent diseases and disasters.
