Education writers hold summit on school safety today

Education Writers Association of Nigeria (EWAN) will, today, October 12, 2022, hold a summit on school safety, where issues bordering on rising cases of attacks on schools by bandits, the sit-at-home order in a particular region, which affects schooling and cases of bullying, rape, and drug abuse, will come to the fore.

Education Writers Association of Nigeria (EWAN) will, today, October 12, 2022, hold a summit on school safety, where issues bordering on rising cases of attacks on schools by bandits, the sit-at-home order in a particular region, which affects schooling and cases of bullying, rape, and drug abuse, will come to the fore.

The summit, according to EWAN, a body of journalists across print, online and broadcast media, is scheduled to hold in Ikeja, Lagos.

While Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will declare the event open, Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, is Special Guest of Honour.

Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, will give the keynote address to be hosted by Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab. 
 
In a statement jointly signed by Chairman and Secretary, Mojeed Alabi and Taiwo Omilani, a team of panellists has been carefully selected based on their expertise and official responsibilities.
 
They include Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. Isah Idris Jere; Director of Senior Secondary Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, Hajia Binta Abdulkadir; newly-appointed Vice Chancellor-Designate of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folashade Ogunsola, among others.
