Implementing partners of the US Consulate General Lagos Political Reporting Project (PRP), the West Africa Broadcast & Media Academy [WABMA], Enugu Literary Society (ELS) and WABMA Media Development Foundation has announced the 2023 Political Reporting Awards aimed at celebrating excellence in political journalism.

The event will bring together prominent political reporters, journalists, and key figures in the media industry for an evening of recognition, networking, and reflection on the vital role of journalism in our society.

Bill to hold September 22 at American Corner, Local Airport Road, Ikeja, the Political Reporting Project is a non-governmental intervention programme that helps to build the capacity of 150 reporters, political editors, photojournalists and video journalists, that coveted the 2023 election cycle in Nigeria.

The yearlong project began in September 2022, and featured a series of political journalism workshops, photojournalism and videography workshops, among others for participants selected from radio, TV, newspapers, and digital media (online) from 17 states.

The 2023 awards ceremony will honour outstanding participating reporters, editors, photojournalists and videographers.
