The Emir of Ilorin and Life Patron of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria (AISN), Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has tasked the newly elected Executive Council of the Society to continue to uphold the ideals and legacies of its founder, Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adaby.

The Emir gave the charge when he received the newly elected national executives of the Society during a courtesy visit to his palace in Ilorin, Kwara State.

He urged the new leadership to remain committed to the propagation of Islam, promotion of moral values and selfless service to humanity, stressing that the principles remain the bedrock upon which Ansarul Islam was founded.

According to the royal father, unity, dedication and exemplary leadership are essential to advancing the objectives of the Society, adding that Allah would continue to guide and strengthen the new executives in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Emir also prayed for wisdom, strength and success for the leadership team as they steer the affairs of one of Nigeria’s foremost Islamic organisations.

The newly elected National President of the Society, Alhaji Sarafadeen Alabelewe, thanked the Emir for his fatherly support, guidance and prayers, assuring him that the new leadership would remain faithful to the vision of the founding fathers.

Alabelewe pledged that the National Executive Council would work tirelessly to promote Islamic education, foster peace and contribute to national development through the Society’s programmes and activities.

His emergence followed the election of a new National Executive Council at the 51st National Delegates Conference of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria last Saturday at Muhammad Kamalud-deen University (MKU), Ogidi, Ilorin.

At the conference, Alhaji Abdulmumeen Hanafi Ayarah Al-Adabiy was returned as Life National Missioner, while Prof. Abdulbaki Abdulraheem emerged as General Secretary and Alhaji Gesua Abdulyekeen was elected National Public Relations Officer.

In his acceptance speech at the conference, Alabelewe expressed appreciation to delegates for the confidence reposed in the new leadership and commended the immediate past National Executive Council for its contributions to the growth of the Society.

He particularly hailed the outgoing leadership for the successful establishment of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, describing the institution as a landmark achievement in the educational advancement of Ansarul Islam and a testament to the enduring vision of its founder.

The National President assured members that the new executive would build on the solid foundation laid by its predecessors by strengthening the Society’s educational and missionary programmes, promoting unity among members and advancing the ideals of Ansarul Islam across Nigeria and beyond.

The conference attracted delegates from across the country and ended with prayers for peace, unity and continued progress of the Society.
