Excitement as youth Jostles for grand prize in GLOIN60SECONDS contest


As countdown to the finals of Globacom’s online talent competition, #GLOIN60SECONDS, commences, Nigerian youths have intensified efforts on different online platforms, to post different videos to qualify for the last stage of the contest.

The ultimate prize of N1m awaits the overall winner, while five others will go home with consolation prizes of N200, 000 each.In the last eight weeks, Globacom has presented prizes to different winners across the country, and this has generated positive buzz among the youths who have besieged online sites to upload different videos, including drama skits, dancing, comedy, poetry, singing and other creative activities.

The challenge which started on December 10, 2018, rewards seven lucky contestants with the highest video likes, every week with the sum of N50, 000 each. So far, five batches of winners have received cheques in Gloworld outlets across the country, while weeks 6, 7 and 8 winners will be presented with theirs on Wednesday, February 27, ahead of the grand finale. In final round, 30 top rated videos from all three categories will be selected to contest for voting for the period of one week.

Speaking on the contest, a year two student of Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Akinmolarin Bolarinwa, who uploaded a drama skit on his Twitter account, expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious.

Also, a dancer and Botany graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Pakama Mukta Anthony, said, “Winning in the #GLOIN60SECONDS challenge is a big boost to me and I am particularly happy to be a winner. Glo gives back to its subscribers and I will continue to preach the gospel to my friends and relations.”
