A former Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof. lyiola Oni, yesterday, urged professional organisations to participate in governance by playing role in reconstructing and revitalising all sectors of the economy.

Oni stated this at the 38th yearly general assembly/public lecture organised by the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) in Lagos.

He said that democracy could only be sustained through inclusivity and broad participation of professionals at various sectors.

Also, President of APBN, Akinloye Oyegbola, said that patronage of professionals in governance had been very low in the country, stressing that the association is already making efforts to deepen participation in democracy through publicity and advocacy.
