Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Bello, has expressed the FCT Administration’s readiness to partner the Nigeria Communication Commission, (NCC) for 5G broadband deployment in the city.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Bello, has expressed the FCT Administration’s readiness to partner the Nigeria Communication Commission, (NCC) for 5G broadband deployment in the city.

Bello reportedly stated this when a delegation of the NCC led by its Chairman, Prof. Adeolu Akande, visited him in Abuja.

Chief Press Secretary to the Minister, Anthony Ogunleye, stated, yesterday, that his principal assured the NCC board and management that all pending issues on the deployment of telecommunication facilities within the territory, including the payment of appropriate charges by telecommunication companies, would be resolved with the collaboration of all parties.

Bello was said to have reminded his guests how expensive it is to provide infrastructure within the FCT, which made the deployment of telecommunication facilities part of its extensive road network.

He ordered that a team, comprising the Executive Commissioner (Technical Services) of NCC, the Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority, (FCDA) as well as his Chief of Staff be set up to harmonise and resolve all outstanding issues.
