The Feed Nigeria Summit and Agriculture Awards being orgnaised by Agro Nigeria in collaboration with its partners is to hold between April 6 and April 7, 2017 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event is being supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB), Songhai Center for Excellence, Porto Novo, the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme Office in the Vice-Presidency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, among other stakeholders.

The summit with the theme: “Feed Nigeria to Feed Africa,” would address key agricultural productivity issues like finance, market access, research, infrastructure, mechanisation, as well as information and communication technology (ICT), while ensuring the mainstreaming of gender and other related issues. It would also examine the role of legislation on agriculture.

The Nigeria Agriculture Awards 2016/17 on the other hand, is designed to celebrate individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the agricultural sector.

Since its inception in 2014, it has been a robust medium for celebrating excellence in the agro-allied industry. Against this backdrop, this year’s awards promises to be a worthwhile experience.

It has therefore, introduced an Agro Essay and Project Proposal Writing Competition for students of secondary and tertiary institutions. This is with a view to introducing the youths to the huge potentials in agriculture.
