The Federal Government yesterday assured pilots and airlines of safer and efficient airspace radio communications system in the country.
The assurance was in response to complaints on poor radio communication between aircraft and air traffic control stations. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Fola Akinkuotu, at an interactive section with pilots and air traffic controllers in Lagos, said all challenges experienced in the area of communications were being tackled.
Akinkuotu explained that it was essential for communication between the pilots and air traffic controllers to be crisp and clear, saying although there have been attestations that they have been some improvements, he would not be satisfied until peak efficiency was attained.
