Fraud in AKTH as patients fume about sudden cashless policy
Management of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) has launched investigation into cases of theft and fraud in the hospital.
Some staff of the hospital suspected to have involved in the financial misappropriation are presently undergoing internal disciplinary action pending the outcome of the investigation.
Revenue running into millions of naira generated from medical services are said to have being missing in the hospital, a development which compelled the management to concession payment system in the hospital.
Meanwhile, patients have expressed worried over sudden stoppage of cash payment and subsequent foisting of cashless policy in the tertiary health facility without prior notification.
