The standard bearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is a very intelligent woman, an achiever, a woman of action and above all, a humble, kind, God-fearing and compassionate woman,” leader of Asanti Think-Tank, a group of prominent political leaders in Southern Ghana, Dr. Afreh Ofori, told journalists in Kumasi at the weekend.

Rising from an emergency meeting in Kumasi, the leaders commended Agyeman-Rawlings for her contributions to the search for peace, unity and progress for the people of Ghana.

“At this time when a new direction is needed for our great country, Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings possesses the experience, vision, political wisdom, courage and humility needed for the important task”.

The leaders commended Agyeman-Rawlings for her impartiality and benevolence to all, stressing her achievements in the past.

They urged the people to elect her in the next presidential election.

“Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is a very humble, down to earth woman and accessible to all. She is a team player and will build a new and strong bridge of prosperity and dignity for Ghana.

“We believe that voting Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings is the best interest of Ghana,” the leaders said.

Also, notable women in Ghana have agreed to step up efforts to ensure victory for the Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings in the country’s election.

“Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is the only person that can genuinely change Ghana” Mrs. Esther Kofi, chairman, Forum for Responsible and Accountable Women in Politics (FFRAWP), said.

Speaking at the inauguration of the group in Accra, Mrs. Kofi said: “The task of developing Ghana is too heavy and requires the maturity, quiet dignity and broad vision of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

“What we need is focused, purposeful, proactive, energetic and God fearing leadership. We need a strong leader that can efficiently harness the vast resources of this country and commit such resources to meaningful growth and development. “We need a leadership that will govern within the spirit of fairness, equity and justice in order to truly unite our people,” Kofi added.

Looking at the political history of Agyeman-Rawlings, coupled with the humility that she has displayed in the discharge of her responsibilities in the past, Kofi said: “Rawlings represents the positive change that Ghanaians have been asking for.

“Agyeman-Rawlings is the best person to truly change our country for the better. We are calling on Ghanaians at home and abroad to give her the authority to transform the country”.

She commended the former first lady for empowering women and freeing them from being hewers of wood and drawers of water to actors in the political arena.

“Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is the only candidate that has the intellect, the philosophical depth of vision and the temperamental disposition to transform the country. She holds the promise of change,” she added.
