Digital services company, Globacom, has been commended for its support and sponsorship of activities at the Great Benin GSM Village.

Globacom, recently, signed a five-year sponsorship deal with the Great Benin GSM Village Association, the only recognised and registered association in Benin City, Edo State, housing the full complement of ICT professionals empowered to train technicians in the repair of GSM products and sale of devices.

Speaking at the association’s end of the year dinner to round off 2022 events, Ikhelowa Mohammed, Chairman of the Village commended Globacom for providing continuous support for the yearly celebration of the association and strong commitment to its progress over the years.

He said the association had progressed tremendously, since 2020, when it signed a MoU with Globacom, adding: “Market population was about 600, and this has grown to over 1,000 today, a clear indication that the market is fast growing.”

Mohammed said the association looks forward to more rewarding relationship with Globacom.

Globacom’s Regional Manager, Mr. Obiora Ezeora, who presented awards to the best team at the association’s soccer tournament, urged the players to work harder, as some of them could end up becoming football stars in the future.

He also assured them of Globacom’s continued support for the association in its quest to provide an enabling environment for job creation and excellence.
