Glo preaches peaceful, sober celebration

Digital Services Company, Globacom, has felicitated with Christians in Nigeria on the occasion of Easter.

The company, in a statement released in Lagos, yesterday, called for peace and encouraged the Christian faithful to be sober and circumspect as they celebrate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

It stated that Christ offered himself as propitiation for the sins of the world and lived a life that made him an eternal exemplar of peace on earth and goodwill to men.

“Christ preached love towards mankind. His ‘love thy neighbour’ sermon has been adjudged one of the shortest but most profound teaching by which man can dwell without rancour with others. If we all embrace this teaching, the ills in our society will greatly reduce, if not totally eradicated,” the telecommunication company stated. “It behoves us, therefore, to extend the same love that we were freely given, to our fellow human beings.”

The statement called on Christians to pray for the peace and unity in Nigeria, and to exemplify the teachings of Jesus Christ, which are deep-rooted in peace for mankind, “especially at this critical time of nation building.”
