…Advises govt to prioritise children protection

In line with the United Nation‘s directive that children should be celebrated annually, 600 pupils from ten public schools in Lagos State were invited for the celebration by Margaret Modinat Foundation at Agege Stadium.

The event, which was witnessed by teachers who led the pupils from those schools also featured the presence of the Head of Service, Social Mobilisation, Agege Local Government Education Authority, Mrs. Adenike Ibrahim.

The Convener, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Princess Olanrewaju Osibote said the celebration, which was the 3rd edition, was organized to showcase the importance and position of children in nation building, adding that she has been carrying out the exercise for the past ten years.

“The importance of conveying the message to the children that they are loved and should be celebrated cannot be overemphasized.

“It then behooves the government to be very passionate about the children’s future by ensuring that right and committed personnel are engaged in the various institutions established for the sake of these children who are both citizens and leaders in the nation tomorrow.

“Being very passionate and catching them young should be a matter of priority for the government. she said.
She remarked that her Foundation also cares for people with mental health challenges, the less privileged, and of course supports education.

She emphasized that the government needs to do much in the area of building the nation and equipping the same with the right leaders of tomorrow by ensuring that the children are made happy at all times, adding that the children should be made conscious that there are people out there who care for them.

She underscored the importance of support for organisations that have passion for children by people that have the wherewithal instead of wasting such money on things inconsequential.

She also highlighted the need to monitor those that are assigned to cater for children and ensure they are doing the right thing and helping the right children who are really in need.

She expressed the desire to support vulnerable children and build homes for homeless children, supporting those who are really in need.

Head of service, Social Mobilisation, Agege Local Government Education Authority, Mrs. Adenike Ibrahim who was at the event underscored the importance of always encouraging children by doing everything to ensure they face their studies and become the right leaders of tomorrow.
