Group issues ultimatum to AEDC over power supply in Lokoja
Light Up Movement (LUM) has given the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) seven days to improve power supply to Lokoja and environs or face the wrath of the residents.
The demand was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of an emergency meeting in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital,. It was signed by the chairman, Zakari Iliyasu; the secretary, Yabagi Mohammed; and other executive members.
The advocacy grsoup threatened to mobilise the residents for street protests and shut down the company’s premises, if their demands were not made.
All efforts to speak with the AEDC business manager in Lokoja proved abortive, as he was said to be holding a management meeting till press time.
