Gunmen kidnap two teachers in Edo, demand N15m
Gunmen on Monday kidnapped two teachers identified as Dada Okun and Mrs. Esther Alab, in Owan West Council of Edo State.
The Guardian gathered that the teachers were abducted while teaching at Obi Primary School at Obi Camp in Avbiosi community.
It was learnt that the kidnappers first demanded N1 million when they contacted the family members of the victim, but later increased it to N15 million.
The gunmen reportedly stormed the school about 10.30am and ordered six teachers in the school to move with them after shooting sporadically. But some of the teachers were said to have escaped in the process.
Efforts to confirm the incident from the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor, was unsuccessful.
