HAF fetes over 300 in outreach programme

As part of its welfare support initiative to the elderly, vulnerable and disposed, Helping the Aged Foundation (HAF) has feted over 300 people in Agbado Oja area of Ogun state.

According to the foundation, the support is aimed at providing health, personal, financial and social needs for the deprived elderly in rural communities across Nigeria.

Speaking at the ‘feed a hundred intervention’ outreach, Founder, HAF, Jumoke Kolawole, said the reward of the foundation is to give hope to the hopeless being socially conscious and human focused.

Kolawole said there are a lot of deprived people in the community, most of them some are physically challenged so it a community that really needs intervention.

She added that: “We reach out to deprived elderly people, right now we are at abado station where we are feeding, clothing. We got cloth, household items, we are giving out bedding, we have ready to eat food because this people live on the street, they beg for arms and they live on this road, so we are to encourage them, to show love, while giving some health talk while giving medical products.

In her words: “The fulfilment that comes from the outreach is the fact that they are going to be wearing a smile which is enough for us. We just want to share from the little that we have; it’s not that we have too much, we are just a group of young people.

“If we get support from government, private individuals or organizations we might be able to reach out to more people. Now we bargained for a hundred people but right now we have over 300 people and the resources is small and it can only accommodate a few

Kolawole said the foundation is open to partnership with individuals or organizations that will share in its initiative to help the foundation achieve more.

HAF is a welfare support initiative to the elderly that has been going about local governments in the Western region doing good to the aged who are less privileged in the society.
