Intending pilgrims who have registered to perform the 2027 Hajj from Kano but failed to submit valid international passports before 25 August 2026 may risk losing the allocation.

The strong directive came as Nigerian pilgrims’ buckles to meet the 26th September 2026 deadline set by Saudi Arabia authorities for completion of registration and payment of next year’s pilgrimage.

The Director-General Kano State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, issued the directive on Saturday while briefing journalists on the update on preparation for 2027 Hajj.

Alh. Matawalle said the timeline was part of measures to ensure the timely registration and documentation of all intending pilgrims ahead of the commencement of the Hajj process.

The DG warned that any registered intending pilgrim who fails to submit his or her international passport on or before the stipulated deadline may not be allocated a Hajj seat.

According to the Director-General, the deadline has become necessary due to the need to complete the enrolment and documentation of all intending pilgrims within the required timeframe

He emphasized that Kano is fully conscious of the anticipated closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration server already slated to end by August 2026.

The Director-General stressed that the Board would not be responsible for any consequences arising from failure to comply with the stipulated deadline.

He therefore urged all intending pilgrims in Kano State who have yet to submit their international passports to do so without further delay and ensure that the documents are submitted to the appropriate authorities on or before 25 August 2026.
