It was all smiles on the faces of the management staff of Ikorodu General Hospital, when the Rotary Club of Gbagada, led by the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Dr. Wale Ogunbadejo, and president of the club, Adefowoke Williamson, to donate patient monitor and 50 mosquito nets to nursing mothers with in the bid to reduce maternal mortality.

Ogunbadejo said the club was doing what it does best, which is reducing the spate of unnecessary death of patients through the use of the monitor and mosquito nets.

“We are committed to serving humanity, prevent unnecessary death and ensure people live a quality life. Making beneficiaries of our projects happy is our joy in Rotary, which is in line with our six areas of focus.”

Dr. Ismael Obani, who represented the hospital’s Medical Director, Dr. Mobolaji Olukoya, said the healthcare system was capital intensive, which the government alone can no longer handle.

“This is the reason we appreciate the gesture of the club that of all hospitals, it chose Ikorodu General hospital to give the equipment we cherish so much.”
