I’m not in competition with anybody – Dboi


Ignatius Ehinome Okojie, better known as Dboi is a hip hop artist currently based in South Africa and is dedicated to restoring the hip hop genre in Africa to a place where by its rivals the current trend of afro pop and Ama piano.

The rap star has openly stated his ambition towards the hip hop genre and his love for the culture.

The fast budding artist has refuted comments suggesting his style of music is afro fusion and comparing him to the likes of Vector, MI, and another prominent Nigerian artist who also feature rap genre In their music.

He faulted the school of thought that gave birth to the ideology that he is an afro artist and in the bracket of the above listed artists.

The Hustlers anthem king argued that to him, the hip hop genre is dead, whilst quoting the famous rap legend, Nas.

“I can’t accept this claims becomes I’m a rapper and not an afro artist,” he said.

The rapper stated that he is not in competition with any artist as for him it is more about reviving the rap genre to its former glory.

This is in light of recent comparisons by fans and music lovers to the likes of blaqbones, MI and Falz who are currently the heavy weights in the hip hop music sphere.

But the rapper stated saying, “My mission to embark on hip hop is born out of a child hood love and passion and not to be In competition with anyone as I don’t see any competition in the rap game as it is almost no in existence
anymore”.

Dbois” Hustlers Anthem is set to be released soon as the rap star is hoping his lyrical prowess will dazzle both fans and music lovers and mark the beginning of a new era in the resurrection of the hip hop genre in the Africa music sphere.
